Bays Junior Athletes

At Bays, we offer year-round athletics opportunities for children aged 4–14 through two exciting seasons:

• Summer Track & Field (October – March)

• Winter Cross Country (April – August)

Whether your child is new to the sport or looking to grow their skills in a supportive team environment, Bays Athletics provides fun, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate programming.

📅 Season Structure & Membership

🔵 Ages 4–6 Membership (Track & Field Only)

2025–26 Season: October – March

• Cost: $180 (includes Athletics NZ & Auckland Athletics levies)

• Age-appropriate Tuesday night club sessions at 5:15pm (finishes ~6:30pm)

• Focus on fun, movement, coordination, and confidence building

🟡 Ages 7–14 Annual Membership

Full Year: April 2025 – March 2026 Includes access to both Winter Cross Country and Summer Track & Field seasons.

• Cost: $275 (includes Athletics NZ & Auckland Athletics levies)

• Access to ALL weekly club nights, coaching, and training sessions across both seasons

• Participation in club, regional, and national events (e.g., Colgate Games)

Winter Season (April – August):

• Monday night club sessions (from April 28)

• Optional distance running squad on Mondays, Thursdays & Fridays (age/experience dependent)

Track & Field Season (September – March):

• Tuesday night club meets

• Wednesday night event-specific coaching (5:30pm – 7:00pm)

💡 Athletes aged 11–14 who are ready to take the next step can join our X-Squad for more targeted senior pathway training.

🧍 Parent Involvement & Supervision

As a volunteer-driven sport, we rely on parents and caregivers to keep our club running smoothly. No experience is required – just your time and enthusiasm!

• All parents are expected to help at club nights and events

• Your child remains your responsibility during club activities — no drop-offs please

• It’s a rewarding way to be part of their journey and community

👕 Uniforms & Age Patches

All junior athletes must wear the Bays uniform at club nights and when representing the club.

• Ages 7–14 must also wear an age patch (stitched or pinned to the front right of their singlet)

• Uniforms can be purchased at club nights or by emailing: club@autmillennium.org.nz

🏃‍♂️ Competitions & Events

Throughout the year, athletes can take part in:

• Ribbon days at other Auckland clubs

• Interclub and regional championship events

• The Colgate Games – New Zealand’s biggest junior athletics competition

• South Island: Nelson | 16–18 January

Open to all club-affiliated athletes aged 7–14 — no qualification required!
